Inspiring a bright, new generation of young brains.
America is in danger of experiencing a shortage of engineers in the near future as not enough high school kids are taking the early steps needed to begin a career in the industry. ExxonMobil engineers asked us to help solve this problem by reaching out to kids on social media.
First, we gathered basic engineering questions from real kids and had them answered by MIT scientists. We teased their answers with fun, simple animations.
We also created a series of GIFs showcasing weird inventions and technologies from bio-mimicry to 3d printing. Each GIF served as a rebus for the phrase "Be An Engineer
For preroll and other paid media, we produced a series of animated videos about real Exxon engineers. Each story was told in a dreamy tone, leading to the idea of a "dream job". Here is one about an environmental engineer:
